Right from the beginning, we sponsored the activities of the Annai Children's Home(ACH).
In 1986 a little printing press was established in Kanyakumari. In the same year ACH was able to buy a piece of land in Aramboly.
This meant that some of the food required by the Ashram could be produced independently and that jobs and training positions were created.
Essential for the agriculture was the building of a well. Later on they obtained livestock and built a bio gas installation for the kitchen.
The land and the well were paid for by donations from Germany. Mr. Graham Beillard from Jersey Island, Great Britain, collected money at a big event. So the buildings could be realized.
In 1989 they moved onto their own land and into their own buildings. The project was now named "Annai Seva Ashram". The children and staff felt quickly at home in Aramboly.
At the beginning of 1997 the entire project was expanded with the establishment of a hospital. Together with the administration of six villages (approx. 10.000 citizens), a village hospital was opened for out-patient treatment. Two doctors and two nurses offer medical treatment at affordable prices for the poor and the disadvantaged people of the rural areas.
